Purpose is to capture the US market

The private Irish Teeling Whiskey Company has brought the global acting spirits giant Bacardi in to benefit from its channels of distribution on the US market. According to communiques It’s a minority stake so that leadership will stay absolutely in the hands of the owners and the previous management.

Jack and Stephan Teeling founded the company in 2012 and took up the long whiskey tradition of their family. The new Teeling Distillery was opened in 2013. Business development and sales figures have shown very positive (we reported). Jack’s and Stephan’s father John Teeling had built the Cooley Distillery in 1987 which he sold in 2011 with big profits to Beam.

With the involvement of Bacardi in the Teeling Whiskey Company the Irish Teeling Whiskey from Dublin will be distributed in several American States by Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, distribution partner of Bacardi for the US market.

Teeling has be exporting to the US for three years but aims to strengthen its position on this market that is very important and promising for Irish whiskey.
