The first bottling since 2019 enters the market

A special bottling from Michter's Distillery will make its way to international markets from February. There are not many bottles: 328 Michter's Celebration Sour Mash of the 2022 bottling with an alcohol content of 56.4 % ABV will be available. In the USA, the recommended price is $6,000 per bottle.

The first Michter's Celebration Sour Mash was released in 2013, the new 2022 edition is only the fourth bottling of this special series of Michter's Sour Mash. Responsible for the selection of the casks is Michter's Master Distiller Dan McKee. He said: “This is the second time that I have had the honor of working with our team to produce a Michter’s Celebration release. This edition contains whiskeys personally selected by me from seven extraordinary barrels: three of them Kentucky straight bourbon and four of them Kentucky straight rye."

The seven whiskeys range in age from twelve to over thirty years. Michter's Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson says in a press release, "This whiskey is an exploratory journey of aged bourbons and ryes blended to perfection that leaves your palate captivated with its bold elegance. I am thrilled with this release and very proud of the Michter’s team and our efforts to produce the best American Whiskey."

The bottling was originally scheduled for release at the end of last year, but the US is also struggling with difficulties regarding supply chains. The ordered packages did not arrive on time. These are not simple bottle boxes, but elaborate boxes with a drawer containing a covering letter signed by Dan McKee.
