Pernod Ricard confirms rumors

Pernod Ricard has caused huge excitement among Glenlivet fans: The group confirmed that it will re-introduce the Glenlivet 12 Years Old as part of the core portfolio of this famous Speyside whisky label. Because of decreasing casks stock and a worldwide high whisky demand the classic 12 years old edition was replaced by the no-age-statement edition Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve in 2015. “It has been our plan since the beginning to reintroduce the 12-year-old,” the CEO of Chivas Brothers, Laurent Lacasagne said, as quoted in The Spirits Business. Based on the success of the Founder’s Reserve the whisky label was given the chance to grow further and take some pressure from the age range. In the next three years the Glenlivet 12 Years Old will be re-introduced in certain markets.

Glenlivet 12 Years Old never disappeared completely

Although the Glenlivet 12 YO hasn’t been part of the core range in most countries during the last two years, whisky fans have been able to buy the single malt if they really were interested in the bottling. It was imported in small numbers from other countries by some dealers. And just now Pernod Ricard delivered a nice amount of Glenlivet 12 to German dealers.
