Seven experimental single malt releases are presented as Hip Flask Series

In 2014 the stills at Eden Mill started working and now the distillery at Guardbridge, St Andrews, launches its first single malt whisky. Besides a special inaugural bottling that will not be on regular sale, Eden Mill presents the Hip Flask Series. It presents seven different releases that were produced from different malts and matured in different types of casks - Eden Mill is a small and very experimental brewery and distillery.

These seven dwarves are 20 cl bottles – the distillery wants to give as much whiskyfans as possible a chance to try the first single malt whisky and so it decided to use this uncommon bottle size. Only 3.800 will appear on the market but fans in most countries will probably have to wait some more time until they can get their hands on an Eden Mill Single Malt Whisky.

These are the seven editions of Eden Mill’s Hip Flask Series, each of it bottled with 47% ABV, that will soon be followed by some more editions:

  • Hip Flask Series No.1: Pale malt mash, matured in a French virgin octave
  • Hip Flask Series No.2: Chocolate malt (8%) and pale malt (92%) mash, matured in a virgin American oak octave
  • Hip Flask Series No.3: Brown and crystal malt (8%) and pale malt (92%) mash matured in a virgin American oak octave
  • Hip Flask Series No.4: Pale malt mash matured in a virgin French oak octave
  • Hip Flask Series No.5: ‘Frankenstein Malt Bill’ (brown and crystal malt (33%), chocolate malt (33%) and pale malt (34%) matured in a virgin American oak octave
  • Hip Flask Series No.6: Pale malt mash matured in an oloroso Sherry hogshead
  • Hip Flask Series No.7: Pale malt mash matured in a PX Sherry hogshead
