Comment: What a delicious dram! Why can't I rate it a 4.5 or so?? I'll save my 5 star ratings for my whisky in the 30-40 year old range! But this stuff is definitely north of 4 stars! This release of Allta is scrumptious! It will make you feel like you have a piece of Granny's warm, just-out-of-the-oven sweet apple-cinnamon strudel/turnover with a sugar glaze drizzled over the top in front of you! It is warm, delightful yet mild "yeasty,"sweet, apple-ish, cinnamon taste! Soft, yet distinctive on the nose; magnificent on the palette, particularly the spicy cinnamon notes, with a really long finish that just gets better with time! It is smooth, luscious, mouthwatering (hence my "oily" rating), and whatever local yeast their brewer used makes this totally unique from anything else Glenmorangie. I paid $99USD in the 51st State of the USA, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and it's worth every penny/farthing!
